Jackie-1392Jackie Burger has been editor of ELLE Magazine since 2006. She has been extensively involved in the publication and has pioneered some of the most noteworthy projects for the publication, including the annual ELLE Talent Search campaigns which seek to create avenues of entry into the SA fashion industry for South Africa’s young people.

Most recently (May 2011) Jackie Burger introduced South Africa to the ELLE Female Factor Forum, a groundbreaking initiative, which is set to spark a national dialogue for women, and by women.

Jackie has been dedicated and in passionate pursuit of contributing to the fashion industry in South Africa for 23 years. After gaining marketing experience as brand manager for a leading fashion retailer, she was lured by the dynamic world of publishing. Jackie has been consulting fashion editor of Fair Lady, a selection of trade magazines, including Woolworths, V& A Waterfront and Visi, a high quality and exclusive decor magazine.

She has presented a fashion television series; did a number of fashion inserts for magazine-style programmes and consulted on brand re-activation projects for clients such as Lever Pond’s.

Jackie’s career accolades include:

  • Fashion Category Winner of the Most Innovative Style Category at the 2003 SA Style Awards

  • Curator and panellist for the Annual Design Indaba
  • Gold Loerie for creative excellence for project management of the South African Fashion Awards 2005.
  • Editor of the Year in the Consumer magazine category, Pica Awards 2011
  • Winner in the category of Outstanding Contribution to Fashion; 2012 Africa Fashion Awards
